Illinois AFL-CIO President Tim Drea, activist Pam Monetti, and UMWA Local #1613 Scott Thomas will be the main speakers at Union Miners’ Cemetery in Mt. Olive, IL, on Oct. 12. The ceremonies start at noon with a short historical parade. Afterward, snacks will be provided as labor music plays. The event is free and open to the public. A portable chair is recommended.
